Mr. Jaegers specializes in predictive modeling, particularly as it applies to rate analysis. These encompass GLMs submitted in rate and loss cost filings for numerous state insurance departments. Mr. Jaegers has worked on models of increasing complexity, including basic GLMs but also ridge regression, LASSO, and elastic net regularization, random forests and regression trees, splines and polynomial regressions, k-means and k-nearest neighbor clustering, principal components analysis, Bayesian hierarchical models, and others. These models have included rate models, loss cost models, and catastrophe models.

At Taylor & Mulder Inc., Mr. Jaegers has conducted reserve analyses, and designed statistical models for insurance companies, captive insurers, and risk retention groups. His experience in designing models is translated into his detailed analysis of sophisticated, complex models presented in the review of rate filings for private passenger automobiles and homeowners for the top personal lines writers in the country. Statistical modeling and rate filing reviews include all of the major lines of insurance such as worker’s compensation, personal automobile, commercial automobile, homeowners, inland marine, property, dwelling fire, farmowners, motorcycle, recreational vehicles, personal liability, personal umbrella, equipment breakdown, professional liability insurance and earthquake, hurricane and other catastrophe models.

Mr. Jaegers has served on Casualty Actuarial Society Committees as Member of the Cyber Risk Task Force, a Member of the Data Science and Analytics Committee, and as the CAS University Liaison for the University of Central Missouri.
